Permaculture Water Systems:

Farms, Families and Communities with Andrew Faust

When:  May 24th – 26th 2013
Where:  Green Light Plants Nursery – Landenberg, PA
Learn the principles of regenerative water systems at home and on the farm through a real‐world design experience at Green Light Plants, permaculture homestead and plant nursery in Landenberg, Pennsylvania. Empower yourself with the know-how to optimize your use of water in the landscape with permaculture, an ecological design science based on the patterns found in nature.
In this advanced training we offer you the chance to hone your design skills and “get dirty” on our site with hands-on experience developing and implementing a whole-site water management plan for a budding 13-acre permaculture homestead, rich in maturing food forests and a plant nursery featuring native and permaculture plants regeneratively grown.

Workshop includes
• Friday evening through Sunday class
• Course materials
• Local and organic meals including some rare permaculture plants
• Biochar BBQ celebration Saturday night

Tuition
Registration:  $175 for the full weekend workshop

Accommodations

Taking Gardening to the Next Level.

Seed Saving and Home Biochar making and use.

When:  Saturday February 16th, 2013
Where:   Camp Hill, PA 17011

Learn seed saving with Tim Mountz of Happy Cat Farm and home biochar making and use with Dale Hendricks of Green Light Plants nursery.  You will walk away from this class with the knowledge and confidence to save the seed from the plants that grow best in your own garden. And where  is the real Carbon Action??? Under our feet! Dale will take us on a carbon odyssey for gardeners and restorationist informed by some new  research and synthesized understanding.
Carbon and water in landscape settings, the liquid carbon pathway via mycorrhizal  associations, biochar and carbon farming will be explored. Participants will leave with an enhanced appreciation for and knowledge of the interconnected ecosystem functions and the many opportunities gardeners, designers and growers have for effective positive change.
